A common question I get is when to post on social media. While I feel that each business’s audience is different, Sprout Social released a new report of over 20,000 users with data suggesting the best times per platform. Before you take this information as total fact remember to do your own research. This information is not the end all be all and if you try these times and do not see an improvement, consider looking into your company’s insights on each platform.
One thing to note from this report is that the weekends are not the best at any time across all platforms. While you should still post, do not be disappointed in a lower reach and engagement rate on the weekends. This is normal.
According to the Sprout Social report here are the best days and times per platform:
- On Facebook, the best times are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, between 9am and 1pm.
- On Instagram, Tuesdays between 11 am and 2 pm, and Monday through Friday from 11 am to 12pm are the best times to post.
- On Twitter, Wednesdays between 9 am and 3 pm are the best days to post.
- On LinkedIn, Tuesday through to Thursday between 9am and 12pm are the best times to post.
Again, take this as just a guide, not full facts. If nothing else, this is a great way to be consistent and start gathering data about your brand and performance on each platform. If you would like to see their full report and breakdown by industry read more here.
