Personal Brand

Many of my clients have a hard time, “self-promoting.” They understand the need to put 0a30f3356cd0aee595eb609e734d763atheir products and/or services out there, but when it comes to their face, name, and personal brand, it becomes uncomfortable. They fear the judgment and risk of “bothering” someone with their self-promoting content.

The reality of being a small business owner is that you have to have buy-in with your products or services AND you as the owner. People innately want to have a personal connection with a business. They want to feel like they know who is behind their favorite product or service.

My best advice for getting over this fear is to think of posting about yourself as a task rather than self-promotion. It is just another post for another day. The good news about social media is that people can choose to look at your content or not, so if they are bothered by it, that is their problem, not necessarily yours.

Do what you can to get your name out there. Invite people who have liked your posts to like your page. Engage with your followers on every platform. Shamelessly drive people to your website. Your success or failure on social media depends on the content you put out there. Remember that behind every thriving business is the owner. You are your brand.
