They say it takes a village to raise a child, but I think it also takes a village to grow a business. There are times when you have to say when. You have to let others help you to get to the next level.
Not only do I love to help small businesses with this, regarding social media, but I also need help sometimes. Businesses are like children. They need to be cared for and encouraged in order to grow to be healthy and sustainable on their own.
However, this sustainability does not happen overnight. It takes years of ups and downs to get where you need to be. It takes people helping to lighten your ever-increasing load along the way.
I think that is why I love the small business community, especially in Springfield, MO, so much. There is a sense of support and friendly competition here that not everyone has in business. I think there is always enough business if you are willing to support one another and help the community as a whole grow rather than just your individual business.
So, whether you need help managing your finances, your marketing or just an ear to bend, ask for help. Seek out those who can encourage you to grow and then return the favor. It truly takes a village, and the village would not exist without all those who have been supported along the way.
